A New Chapter for the Kearsarge Food Hub
Dear Community,
As we celebrate ten years of growing the Kearsarge Food Hub, we’re entering a new chapter of change and possibility.
The KFH Board and leadership are excited to announce two changes coming at the end of 2025 as part of our forward evolution:
We are launching a search for a new Executive Director with experience and skills to lead KFH into a second decade of impactful service. After ten years of successfully working to build KFH into a thriving organization, France Hahn, a founding member of KFH, will step down as Executive Director, continuing to support the organization in a different role while making space for family and community.
Sweet Beet Farm will be transitioning away from the West Road location as Pierre Hahn, also a co-founder, will begin operating that space independently, growing food and caring for the land through his own farm business. Sweet Beet Farm will continue growing at Baby Beet Farm in downtown Bradford and expects to expand into new locations currently under consideration.
Thank you, France, for your inspirational leadership over the past 10 years!
Thank you, Pierre, for your tremendous efforts in our local food system!
On behalf of all of us here at the Food Hub, I extend our most heartfelt thanks to both France & Pierre for their incredible contributions over the last decade. Their efforts have been integral in bringing KFH to where it is today and I can’t wait to see where this next phase takes us!
These transitions come from months of thoughtful reflection and a deep commitment to staying aligned with our mission and values. They close our first decade and offer fresh beginnings that create space for new leadership, ideas, and growth.
KFH began as a founder-led effort, but it’s always been powered by community. Now, it’s grown into something larger than any one person. Its future belongs to all of us.
In order to bring this future into being, we’re beginning a strategic planning process to shape what’s next – rooted in our values (soon to be formally revealed!) and your input. In the meantime, the programs our community has come to rely on will remain strong: Sweet Beet Market & Café will remain open and vibrant and our Food Security and Educational programs will also continue, though education has been pared back slightly to make space for planning what’s next.
Thank you for believing in this work! We do not take your trust or investment lightly — it truly means the world to us. We’ve created an FAQ to answer more questions (see below), and we’re here for any others you may have.
Here we grow again, together!
With care and appreciation,
Kathleen Bigford
