Plant a seed; become part of the story!
Kearsarge Food Hub (home of Sweet Beet) is partnering with Abenaki Trails Project, Abenaki Helping Abenaki Food Pantry, and the Hopkinton Historical Society to support year SIX of the Abenaki Seeds Project!
If you’re interested in growing the three sisters—corn, beans, and squash—sign up for the project today so that we can prepare a package of seeds just for you!
We'll provide educational support throughout the growing season via a Grower's Guide, our library of educational resources, and regular emails. We know that growing a garden can be difficult and every year presents a different set of challenges. We are committed to doing what we can to make your garden thrive so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor!
This project is geared toward supporting food security for the local Abenaki community. We'll guide the process of donating excess harvest from your home garden to the Abenaki Helping Abenaki Food Pantry, which creates access to culturally appropriate foods for 70+ tribal neighbors.
This year we are offering three varieties of seeds: True Cranberry Beans, Rose Flint Corn, and Crookneck Squash. Seed distribution will be held on Saturday May 9th between 10am-12pm at Sweet Beet Market in Bradford, NH and the Hopkinton Historical Society in Hopkinton, NH.
