The Food Security Summit by FEED Kearsarge is a gathering that brings together the people and organizations working to expand food access, education, and distribution across the Kearsarge / Lake Sunapee region.
Taking place on Saturday, April 18th from 9:00am–3:00pm at Kearsarge Regional High School in North Sutton, NH, the summit offers a full day of connection, learning, and collaboration with refreshments and lunch provided!
The event is designed to strengthen relationships among stakeholders working across sectors and beyond party lines to build greater food security; increase awareness of existing efforts and resources; build a stronger FEED Kearsarge coalition with shared goals; and move ideas into action through practical solutions that help get food to people.
The day will include:
Exhibitor Fair featuring information and resources about local organizations working on food security from various perspectives
Opening panel and Q&A with the Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity on the state of food insecurity in the Kearsarge region and NH Hunger Solutions on how food access coalitions actively address this issue
Guided breakout discussions in a variety of topics from home and community gardens to policy and advocacy
Closing panel and Q&A with representatives from food access projects that get food to people in effective and creative ways, from Community FREEdges to discounted CSA’s to Food Pantries
Refreshments and lunch provided!
Registration is by donation—all are welcome to join, learn about the problem of food insecurity, and discover connections and solutions to build greater food security in the Kearsarge Region.
