Favorite Sweet Beet Memories

Made with beets, for color AND flavor!

On July 4th 2025 Sweet Beet celebrated its tenth birthday, and on July 5th we celebrated with all of you at our Birthday Party, here at 11 West Main Street in Bradford, NH!

We had live music with Decatur Creek and local vendor tastings. We ate everybody’s favorite and famous Sweet Beet tacos, and you all helped us sing happy birthday and eat the most beautiful and delicious cake (some said it was the best cake they’ve ever had!).

While dozens of our community members hung out on the porch listening to music and enjoying a gorgeous summer day, we were able to ask many people what their first or favorite memory was from Sweet Beet over the past decade.

Here’s a little bit of what was shared with us.

“Winter 2024: my first NH winter (FL transplant to be closer to in-laws). The moment I got here I knew I had found a place I could anchor. Thank you

“The day the 11 West Main Sweet Beet sign went up —the anticipation of what was to come over the years!” *chills

“The opening party! Dancing, friends, DoBros in the field. It was an exciting start to an amazing place!”

“I bought my house up the block in part because Sweet Beet was right down the road”.

“We drove by the signs for a whole year before finally stopping…wow! we were missing out! We’ve come every weekend since!”

SO many of you have been with us since the VERY beginning, during the start of the farm stand construction itself.

“10 Years ago, we had just bought our house in Bradford and drove “downtown” to check out our new hometown. Pretty sleepy…but as we drove around we saw a group of people roofing a little building near the post office. They noticed us driving by and staring and they responded by waving wildly. No idea who they were at the time but their friendly energy seemed a good omen for our move. Turns out it was the Sweet Beet gang roofing the original farmstead. We were hooked—on Bradford AND Sweet Beet!”

Some more recent Sweet Beet memories, include our annual Community Fair:

“My favorite SB memory was the community festival on the lawn behind the shop. I loved the community turnout and local vendors. Oh, and the music was great!”

Some of you even stumbled across Sweet Beet for the first time doing our 10th Birthday Party and had some amazing things to say about your introduction to 11 West Main Street:

“10th Anniversary with local vendors and live music! The best vibe, great food and really nice people…great local spot. We’ll be back!”

10th Birthday Party!

Thank you for not only celebrating TEN years with us at our birthday party, but thank you for being here since the very beginning, and thank you for continuing to show up here at Sweet Beet, shopping local and supporting our regional food system each and every day!

Cheers to another ten years!

“We’ve been spending summers in Sutton, just over the Bradford line, since 1982. Back then Bradford had an IGA grocery store, as well as other shops to buy food. Within a couple of decades, these all closed. When we first visited Sweet Beet and learned about its mission to develop the local food supply and feed neighbors in need, we were thrilled and have been loyal customers since”.
