Exciting New Partnership: Kearsarge Food Hub Joins Forces with Sunset Hill Education Institute

We are so excited to announce that the Kearsarge Food Hub (KFH) is partnering with the Sunset Hill Education Institute (SHEI) for our farm education programs this year!

SHEI is a local nonprofit whose mission is to empower individuals to grow resiliency and a purposeful, nourishing life story through a barrier-free connection to community and nature. Their mission beautifully aligns with ours here at KFH to reinvigorate our community within a restorative local food system. That’s what makes this such a dreamy—and impactful—new partnership.

The stunning SHEI location is nestled in the woods of Sutton, New Hampshire, just a few minutes from KFH headquarters in Bradford. Picture rolling hills, views of Blaisdell Lake and the surrounding landscape, and many thoughtfully crafted outdoor locations that showcase the beauty of our local lands.

SHEI is the perfect location to bring back our Farm + Forest Club program which we’re thrilled to share is RETURNING this year! This program will feature multi-week sessions throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons. Students will gather together with peers and educators to grow and eat food, connect to nature, and build their environmental science knowledge and skills.

Our Garden Education Manager Xochi Berry has been hard at work planning the return of Farm + Forest Club at SHEI with founder Carol Conforti-Adams. We’ll soon be building raised beds and getting ready for the launch of the spring session this May!  We are so grateful to share the beautiful space at SHEI with you and your children as the host site for our Farm + Forest Club offerings. We know that it will be a magical place to connect to nature and self for your kiddos!

We also highly encourage you to check out the array of offerings provided by SHEI, from nature-based wellness for folks living with disabilities to programs for families and kids. They do such a beautiful job creating outdoor education and community-building opportunities while preserving the incredible lands that make this Kearsarge area so special.

THANK YOU to SHEI for welcoming us to your space and partnering with the Kearsarge Food Hub to ensure more of us have the chance to get outside and get in the gardens. Time spent outdoors connecting with nature and experiencing the practice of growing food is an irreplaceable part of cultivating lasting wellbeing and building healthy communities!
